Dr. Chen Shen and Dr. Jun Meng have both been selected as finalists for the Fifth Rising Star Award in Computational Materials Science.
Both Chen Shen and Jun Meng contributed invited review articles to the related special issue on computational materials science. Their work showcases complementary strengths: Chen’s review on how the synergy between CALPHAD and machine learning is charting an efficient path toward accelerated materials design and discovery, while Jun’s review on interstitial oxygen conductors highlights how careful theory and simulation can guide the discovery of fast ionic transport for energy applications. Both their contributions paint an inspiring picture of where computational materials research is heading.
